Flying Heart Quilting was created as continuation of my love of all things quilting and my retirement from a long career at a major airline. I will enhance your quilted creations with my INNOVA computerized longarm machine. I like to think of it as bringing out the best in YOUR hard work. When I am not quilting, you will find me exploring or gardening.

I have a large library of digital edge to edge stitch designs for you to choose from. I also can bind your top with your prepared binding strips, machine stitched two sided or one sided for you to hand finish. Basting service available. Prices listed on printable work order above.
I accept mail in or local drop service at Tiny Apple Fabric and Crafts in beautiful downtown Anoka and my home by appointment. For Mail in I will pay return postage to your US address. I am located in Anoka, MN.
My turn around time is fairly quick, contact me for current wait times.

I run a Innova Classic 26" computerized long arm. I have a 12' frame and can fit up to a KING sized top. I have many beautiful thread colors, I like to choose a color that brings out the best in your work, seeing your quilt first. View a few example stitch patterns in photos above. Pattern Book at Tiny Apple Fabric& Crafts, Also Pattern selection via phone/text/email also. For Batting, I have 80/20(cotton/poly),100 cotton and natural wool batting available to you, or you can bring your own. specialty batting can be ordered at your cost.

No, I have batting for you to choose from or you are welcome to bring your own favorite batting. I offer all cotton, 80/20 cotton/poly and washable wool at competitive prices. look for the printable work order/price list located this site. prices current 10/2024
I have a large selection of patterns, 2 pattern books are at Tiny Apple Fabric & Crafts. A small selection of photos showing popular designs is available on this web page. The shop samples are also quilted by me and show patterns. I can work with you via text, phone and email to pick your design. still undecided? let's talk, I can choose a pattern based on preferences for you.
I do not carry backing, but at the Anoka drop site-Tiny Apple Fabric & Crafts, they have a large selection of widebacks and 42" yardage. Your 42-44” wide fabric may need a seam, a horizontal is preferred, remove salvage from this seam. Your pre pressed backing needs to be an extra 8-10 inches on the length and 8-10 inches on the width. (Minimum 4” each side) The extra length is needed for securing your quilt to the bars of my quilting frame and ensuring full quilt top will be stitched.
Your quilt top needs to be (close to) square, well pressed, no open or loose seams, free of (as many as you can) loose threads. if directional, please mark the top with a safety pin or pin and paper. Your backing should also be squared and if has a seam, remove salvage and pressing it open reduces bulk from showing after stitched. I can sew your backing seam for a $10 charge per seam.
